View the Carnoustie & District Community Plan (1.5 MB PDF).
The local community plan for Carnoustie & District sets out the work being undertaken and key developments planned by Community panning Partners along side key activities and community aspirations that community organisations are committed to working towards. As well as providing a focus for Community Planning activity at a local level, the plan provides a focus for key service providers and ACPP Thematic Groups.
The plan is ongoing and evolving, reflecting the changing needs and emerging priorities of our communities. This first plan takes us through the period 2011-2013. Thereafter a review will be undertaken which will involve checking progress against current priorities as well as setting out new activities and aspirations for the forthcoming period.

Carnoustie and Area - Background
Carnoustie Development Group are the local community planning partnership for Carnoustie and District, having taken over from Carnoustie Forward in April 2011 (see EGM minute (30 KB PDF)). The group are a mixture of local residents, businesses and community groups who have come together to create an Action Plan (50 KB PDF) for the economic development of Carnoustie. The action plan focuses on the regeneration of the town for residents and visitors through physical improvements and the promotion of Carnoustie businesses. Anyone with an interest in the economic development, tourism or general community life in Carnoustie is invited to come along to our next meeting. Carnoustie Development Group is supported by the local community planning team based in Carnoustie ACCESS Office.
Carnoustie Centre Action Group (CCAG) obtained Lottery funding to employ a consultant to carry out a feasibility study for the creation of a civic centre for Carnoustie on the Kinloch Primary School site. Positive findings of this report are seeing CCAG continue to promote the aims of their group and generate more community interest and support whilst working with Angus Council regarding issues related to this project.
The £1.2 million Seafront Redevelopment ins now completed and the official opening was on 30 June. Work carried out has included the installation of new play equipment, play areas, footpaths and landscaping. The paddling pool has been refurbished and a nine hole crazy golf course has been created. The installation of CCTV within Carnoustie Leisure Centre has also been part of this project. Initial feedback is that the area is proving very popular.
