Local Community Planning
Community Planning is the term used to describe a range of activity which is intended to:
- create an agreed vision which partners can work towards
- give the community a say in the planning of public services
- ensure collaborative working among partners
This community planning work takes place both on an Angus-wide basis and locally.
In Forfar and District Area the following local Community Planning activities are in place.
Forfar and District Local Community Planning Team
This Angus Council Team assists local communities and local groups to contribute to the planning of public services for the area, and to contribute to the wider policy discussions. This includes support to the Forfar Area Partnership which draws together a range of local organisations.
The team also help local groups to initiate and run local projects to improve community life. This help is available to a wide range of groups e.g. Resident groups, Local action groups.
The team undertake localised community appraisals and also conduct local visioning exercises to help create an agreed vision which can inform planning.
