Welcome to the Community Planning Website for Angus

Community Planning is about everyone (organisations and communities) working together to make their area a better place to live.

Here you can find information about who we are, what's happening in your local area and how you can get involved.

You can also see plans and other documents that are relevant to community planning in Angus as well as keeping an eye on how we are doing in the Angus Performs section.

Our Vision

Our Vision is for Angus to be a place where a first class quality of life all for all can be enjoyed, in vibrant towns and pleasant villages, set in attractive and productive countryside. A dynamic and outward looking area, contributing to the culture, environment and economy of Scotland.

The Angus Community Plan

The Angus Community Plan 2007-2012 (660 KB PDF) sets out the vision for Angus up to 2012, and emphasises the crucial role of partnership between all of the agencies having responsibilities to Angus and its communities.

It has six key priorities, as follows:-

  1. changing demographics
  2. the sustainability of the environment, the economy and communities
  3. new business growth
  4. the county's young people
  5. the impact alcohol has on our lives, businesses and communities
  6. community engagement.

The actions that are contained in the Angus Community Plan have been incorporated into the Single Outcome Agreement.

Single Outcome Agreement (SOA)

The Single Outcome Agreement (SOA) sets out how we will work towards improving outcomes for the people of Angus in a way that reflects our local circumstances and priorities. The Agreement was signed on behalf of The Scots Government by Jim Mather MSP, Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism and Councillor Bob Myles, Chair of the Angus Community Planning Partnership on the 11th August 2009.

There is a Single Outcome Agreement (SOA) for the year 2008-2009 (375 KB PDF) between the Scottish Government and Angus Council. Performance reports for this SOA are now available on the Angus Performs section of the website.

Angus Community Planning Partnership has recently finalised its Single Outcome Agreement (SOA) to cover the period 2009-2012 (500 KB PDF). This SOA will be reviewed every year and you can find the most up to date version on the Angus Community Planning Partnership remit page.
