Celebrating the Achievements of Communities in Angus

People from communities in Angus gathered together in Wellbank Village Hall on Friday 27th March to recognise and celebrate the difference that people can make to their own communities.

The range of work which people do is remarkable, improving the environment, providing childcare, promoting the arts, tackling social issues, improving public policy, creating jobs, preserving heritage and much much more. The difference which all this makes is huge. Communities are better places to live because of all the activities and facilities created. They are better places because so many groups also work hard to share out information about the local community, to promote social contact and a sense of belonging and draw people in who might be left out.

The evening saw a launch of the DVD "working together" which shows some of these achievements. Copies of the DVD will be made available through libraries and other community facilities in Angus. Further details will be made available in due course.
