Montrose Curlie Pond Shelter Consultation

Montrose Together discuss the Curlie Pond Shelter with local Councillors.

Following lengthy discussions the partnership agreed that the problems posed by issues surrounding the shelter at the Curlie Pond would require much thought and consideration before any further action. It was agreed that the main concern should be the residents of the area who are split on the proposal of demolition.

It has been discussed that displacing youths will not necessarily solve, but move the problem. Other ideas have been discussed including putting a lockable barrier on the shelter for monitored use during the day time. The Angus Councilors for the area will now continue a consultation process before reaching any further decision.

Work is currently ongoing with young people in this area involving the Neighborhood Services Department, Community Learning and Development, Tayside Police and Tayside Fire and Rescue. For further information please contact your local community planning officer.
