March 2010 - Kirriemuir Community Garden NEW!
The local community planning team has gained the support of relevant Council departments to look at the creation of a community garden in a spare piece of ground near the town centre.
The team are currently engaging with residents of neighbouring sheltered housing complexes for there views and ideas and recently had an on-site meeting with biodiversity and landscape experts. Following this there will be an opportunity of a public meeting to determine whether or not a group of people in Kirriemuir are willing to lead on this development.
March 2010 - Kirriemuir Calendar of Events NEW!
2010 is a big year for Kirriemuir, with it being the 150th anniversary of the birth of JM Barrie.
Kirriemuir Heritage Trust, with support from other local groups and Angus Council are currently leading on the development of a range of events, focused on May. The local community planning team has been asked to coordinate the development of a calendar of events for the town. The team have now written to over eighty local groups, asking for details of events they are organising across the year. An article should also appear in the local newspaper in early February.

17 July 2009 - Kirriemuir Heritage Trust will be providing walking tours of the new town Heritage Trail in August
Every Thursday afternoon, guided walking tours will leave from Reform Street Car Park at 2pm.
12 May 2009 - Kirriemuir Hill Consultation Launched
A community planning project, driven by Angus Council to boost tourism in Kirriemuir and the Glens area, aims to develop Kirriemuir Hill as part of the 2010 community celebrations marking 150 years since the birth of J.M.Barrie.
