Remit
The remit of the Angus Lifelong Learning Partnership is to support the efforts of learning providers to ensure that Angus citizens have access throughout life to learning opportunities that enable them to achieve what they want for themselves, their families and their communities. Through participation in learning opportunities which meet their needs, Angus citizens will be assisted to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.
This vision for lifelong learning reflects the broader community planning vision for Angus and the goals set out in the Angus Single Outcome Agreement. In pursuing its objectives, the Thematic Group has adopted the three national priorities for community learning and development namely:
- achievement through learning for young people
- achievement through learning for adults
- achievement through building community capacity
These priorities will be addressed through agreed actions which will seek to:
- develop well coordinated planning and delivery arrangements for lifelong learning using an outcome focused approach
- implement effective arrangements for monitoring progress in relation to lifelong learning commitments within the Angus Community Plan and the Single Outcome Agreement as well as progress in relation to the thematic group's broader range of activities
- promote opportunities for lifelong learning providers to network, share information and contribute to policy development
- coordinate training activities for practitioners within the lifelong learning field
